Use our calculator for an estimate →Notarial translation is primarily required when submitting documents to government authorities — migration offices, MFC, civil registry offices, passport offices — as well as to consulates and embassies when applying for a visa. Without notary certification such documents are not accepted, as the translation must be legally confirmed and carry the translator's responsibility.
Most clients come to us for notarial translation when applying for RVP, VNJ or citizenship — in this case a translation of the passport, birth certificate and sometimes a criminal record certificate is required. For admission to a foreign university, a translation of the diploma and school certificate with transcript is usually needed — i.e. with the full list of grades and subjects.
A separate category is translation of documents for employment abroad: diplomas, work records and sometimes references from previous employers. For replacing a foreign driver's licence with a Russian one, or using a Russian licence abroad, a notarial translation of the driver's licence is also required.
It is important to understand the difference between translating into Russian and from Russian into a foreign language — in the second case an apostille is almost always additionally required, which certifies the authenticity of the document for use abroad. We help determine exactly which document package is needed for your specific situation — please ask our manager when placing your order.
